Patience. Last year my goal was to create an experience where I enjoyed school, and was looking forward to being on campus. And Alhamdulillah, that happened. I switched my focus to mostly business classes, as well as general credits, and achieved my highest GPA yet – a 4.0! Fall semester consisted of a lot of essays, which I now am not afraid of writing at all, and a handful of wonderful girls that I became close with. One in particular so much so, that I will be visiting her in India this summer, and creating an Honors Experience while I am there. I am so excited to be visiting such a colorful, special place in the world and experience the culture with Radhika. I had several wonderful teachers this past year, Dr. Alexander, Dr. Friedrichsmeyer and Dr. Geter to name a few, who are available as mentors and resources as well as fond memories.
I learned that I have still a lot more to learn, but that I am much more comfortable at UC than I was last year. I learned that although I am not positive that the majors I am pursuing are perfect for me, or where I will fit in the business world, studying this field is much more to my liking than was my previous major. I have more easily made friends and kept up grades and spirits than before, making it a much more pleasant year. I even cut my hair off and donated it to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths program at UC this spring.
For next year I hope to continue with a solid schedule and grades and further finish the requirements for my majors, as well as find some kind of experience in the form of an internship or job to back it up. I am looking forward to new classes, and a new year at UC, as well as the personal journey that each 365 days inevitably hold. This is a very exciting time of our lives and I am so blessed to be in the position I am, with the companions and family I have, and see how I grow and how life unfolds. Inwards, onwards, upwards!
